STEP this week 2/14-2/18

Dear STEP Students,

We have a few announcements for this week:

• Tuesday, February 15 at 12:15 p.m. we are pleased to host an NAU Workshop taught by Frank Pina. Please stop by to learn more about NAU and NAU Connect!
• Wednesday, February 16 we will have a Personal Statement Workshop at 12:15 p.m. If you don’t have a personal statement or if you are wondering if your statement is good enough to get those scholarship dollars, this is the workshop for you!
• Thursday, February 17 at 12:15 p.m. we will offer an ASU MAPP Workshop taught by Dana Roy. Many of you have questions about the MAPP and this is your chance to get those questions answered by an expert. Don’t miss out!
• Monday, February 21 the TRIO Office will be closed in observance of President’s Day.
• Did you know that if you speak a second language, you may be able to get up to 16 college credits if you take a test called the CLEP Test? See Laura for more information!
• If you are graduating this Spring and have not seen Laura to file for graduation, please call 602.305.5676 or stop by the office to make an appointment. The deadline to apply for graduation is March 11.
• Summer and Fall Registration will open March 7.
• The MCBAA Scholarship is now available on the MCBAA website http://www.maricopa.edu/mcbaa/scholarships.php Click on the link listed as MCBAA on the upper left hand side of the page. It is due February 25.
• The BSU at SMCC has Graduation Application scholarships available. See the application here http://students.southmountaincc.edu/NR/rdonlyres/F5D7E606-70B3-4CE9-9475-3F7FF7DF3514/5920/ScholarshipApplication2011.pdf. The deadline to apply is Monday, February 28.
• The Nina Mason Scholarship Application is available at this website https://www.maricopa.edu/studentaffairs/NMPLS/Nina/Ninaapp.php or in the Financial Aid Office. Keep in mind this scholarship has very specific requirements for applicants. You have to be in foster care, have physical disabilities or be an adult with dependent children to be eligible to apply.
