Hello STEP Students,
1. The link I gave you yesterday for the MACHE scholarship is out of date. Please use this link instead: http://www.riosalado.edu/community/students/mache/Documents/MACHE_2009_10%20_Application.pdf
2. Here is more information about the Honeywell Tour: The tour would take about an hour to an hour and a half, depending on what airplanes were available to look at in our hangar. I would start with a briefing in the conference room describing what we do followed by a tour of office area and then hangar. We are involved with the design, flight testing and certification of the latest navigation and display systems for commercial and business aircraft. The types of occupations involved in our work include electrical, mechanical, aerospace and software engineers, aircraft pilots, and aircraft mechanical/electrical technicians.
3. We will be taking women in the STEP program to the following event:
AAUW’s Running & Winning: A program to educate young women about leadership, public service and the electoral process in cooperation with Scottsdale Community College, Wednesday, November 4, 6 – 8:30 PM, Turquoise Rm. Meet women elected to Arizona positions of leadership. Learn about their work, experience, motivation and careers in public service. For more info on AAUW, visit: http://www.aauw.org/ . Please let me know no later than Tuesday, October 27 if you plan to attend this event.
