Hello STEP Students,
- Tuesday, October 27 we are pleased to offer the Happiness 101 – How to Succeed in College & in Life Workshop at 12:15 p.m. in the STEP office. This workshop counts as 1 Personal Development or 1 Academic unit toward Grant Aid.
- Tuesday, October 27 Ottawa University will be visiting the LRC patio to answer your questions about transferring from 10:00 to 1:00 p.m. and the University of Arizona will be in SES 116 from 10:00 to 2:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 28 we will host a What to Expect When You Transfer Workshop at 12:15 p.m. in the STEP Office taught by myself and Laura Smith. Join us to learn about how you can make your transfer process as smooth as possible.
- Thursday, October 24 Grand Canyon University will be visiting the LRC patio from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Be sure to stop by if you are interested in GCU!
- Grant Aid Applications are still available for STEP students currently receiving a Pell Grant. Remember we have over $35,000 in funding available for STEP students for the Spring semester. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to get more money for educational expenses for the Spring semester!
- The STEP math tutor is now available to answer your math related questions on Google-Chat (g-chat)! The Screen Name is StepMathTutor. Hours of availability will vary. Look for Dominic on-line when you get a chance! If you are not sure how to use Google-Chat, please see this link for an overview https://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=33781.
- Now is the time to register for the Spring 2010! Spring ’10 classes are now available, and if students register by October 30th they will be eligible to win a $250 scholarship and other prizes. Please stop by the office or call 602.305.5676 to make an appointment to see Laura, STEP’s academic advisor.
- We will be taking women in the STEP program to the following event:
AAUW’s Running & Winning: A program to educate young women about leadership, public service and the electoral process in cooperation with Scottsdale Community College, Wednesday, November 4, 6 – 8:30 PM, Turquoise Rm. Meet women elected to Arizona positions of leadership. Learn about their work, experience, motivation and careers in public service. For more info on AAUW, visit: http://www.aauw.org/ . Please let me know no later than Tuesday, October 27 if you plan to attend this event.
