STEP this week 10/12-10/16

Hello STEP Students,

We have a few announcements this week:

• Wednesday, October 14 we will have an ASU Application Workshop taught by ASU Transfer Advisor Adam Farni at 12:15 p.m.. If you plan on transferring to ASU in the Spring 2010 or Fall 2010, please make an effort to attend this valuable workshop! Adam will walk you through all of the steps necessary to complete your application to ASU.
• Wednesday, October 14 is Academic Discovery Day. Several programs will have tables set up on the LRC program from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Be sure to stop by and check it out.
• SMCC will host its annual Men’s Luncheon on Thursday, October 22 from 11:30 -1:00 p.m. in the Student Union. STEP has purchased tickets for STEP students to attend. Stop by the STEP Office to RSVP and claim your spot, available on a first-come, first-served basis! This is an opportunity available to all STEP students.
• Friday, October 23 STEP will visit the University of Arizona. Stop by the office to reserve your spot for this campus tour.
• The STEP math tutor is now available to answer your math related questions on Google-Chat (g-chat)! The Screen Name is StepMathTutor. Hours of availability will vary. Look for Dominic on-line when you get a chance!
• If you have not yet turned in your Progress Report, please do so ASAP. Remember, you signed an agreement with the STEP Program and one of the conditions of that agreement is to turn in a Progress Report every semester. Please turn it in ASAP!
• NAU@SMCC has a new 90/30 program that would allow students to transfer up to 90 credits and attain a degree in Public Management! NAU @SMCC also offers a BS in Elementary Education. Tuesday, October 13 they are hosting an Open House from 3-6 p.m. in NAU Room 602 on the SMCC Campus. Please call 602.776.4647 for more information.
