COUGAR AMBASSADOR OPENINGS for the 2009-2010 ACADEMIC YEAR!
Good day SMCC Community,
We are looking for outstanding and interested students who are friendly, enthusiastic, looking for leadership skills, have a cumulative college GPA of 2.7, enrolled in at least 6 credit hours, be in good academic and disciplinary standing and believe in the mission of South Mountain Community College and the Cougar Ambassadors Program.
The Cougar Ambassadors will gain immeasurable leadership training while serving as college recruiters, campus tour guides, student orientation leaders and welcome center paraprofessionals. Professional training will be provided in the areas of leadership, communication skills, student services, marketing and recruitment in order to effectively promote programs, services and resources available at South Mountain Community College.
Potential Ambassadors must be recommended by a SMCC faculty or staff and once selected Cougars must agree to:
Commit to a year of service to the Ambassadors Program.
Attend professional and leadership trainings throughout summer, fall and spring semesters.
Serve 6 hours at each of the semester Orientation programs as student orientation leaders.
Serve as needed during the semester giving campus tours and attending outreach events involving high school students and other potential students.
Participate in monthly meetings.
Applications will be distributed to those students that have been recommended and are interested. Additional information is available in the Welcome Center in the Student Enrollment Services Building.
Deadline is May 1st to Christopher Erran, Recruitment and Advisement (SES 111).
The Mission of the Cougar Ambassadors is to recruit and orient potential, new and current students to South Mountain Community College for a positive and successful college experience.
