Flagstaff/ Northern Arizona University 4/12/13

Northern Arizona University/ Flagstaff, Arizona 

April 12th, 2013- While it was a warm sunny day in Phoenix at a high of 89 degrees, six STEP students went up to Flagstaff, Az to visit Northern Arizona University where it was cloudy, and chilly compared to Phoenix at a high of 61 degrees.

Hello blog readers! I'm Amber, I am in my freshman year at SMCC, I am the Step Up To Success Club/ STEP "Official Blogger", and I am also the work-study student for the marketing department on campus. If you haven't met me before you should meet me because I am awesome! I'm the chick that's on campus everyday rocking the bright red sun glasses. That's me in the photo to the right.

Okay, back to the trip- showing up on campus at 5:45am was the worst part, then the two and a half hour drive up to Flagstaff was boring at first, until we saw trees! No where in sight was there a cactus!

We got to Northern Arizona University around 9 am (an hour before the information session began) so we went to the bookstore! I got an awesome bright pink t-shirt for $7.95 that I will rock to campus one of these days. Once we got our shopping done we headed to the information session where we learned about applying and transferring to the university. We got a lot of good information and anyone interested should click this link NAU- Future Student Information and that will give you all the information needed.

After the information session we had lunch in the "Hot Spot" and then after we met up again for our tour of NAU!

We all headed outside and the tour guide explained to us about all the resources, food options and everything inside the University Union building. I didn't mind being outside because the weather was just beautiful! I could not stop looking up at the San Francisco Peaks and I also could not stop taking photos!

NAU/FLAGSTAFF Photos

 After our tour around campus we just HAD to take group photos, especially with Louie the Lumberjack who we nicknamed "Jack".

"Jack" was so tall that in order to take this photo Derrick, the STEP Coordinator had to be quite a ways back and on top of a giant rock!
