STEP

• Need Money STEP has $5000 that it needs to give away this semester. Grant Aid is a competitive scholarship provided to STEP students only. For eligibility requirements please come by the STEP office and speak with Derrick. Below is a list of the basic criteria, there is also a requirement to participate in STEP activities.
  
  Basic Criteria Checklist
  



• Attend a STEP Scholarship Orientation at the beginning of the semester (if you have not previously applied for STEP Grant Aid)
  



• Fill out a Grant Aid Application, Checklist and Contract
  



• Have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA
  



• Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress while attending at least 6 semester hours and an up to date Check Sheet on file
  



• Complete at least one semester at SMCC
  



• Complete Financial Literacy 101
  



• Receive a Pell Grant and demonstrate unmet financial need
  



• Submit a Progress Report to the STEP office no later than March 9, 2012
  


• Write a 250-500 word Personal Statement
