STEP this week 5/3-5/7

Dear STEP Students:

We have a few announcements for this week:

• Thank you to those of you who were able to attend the STEP End of the Year Ceremony. If you were not able to attend, please stop by the office to complete a STEP Program Evaluation so that we can continue to serve you effectively.
• STEP Graduates: If you were not able to attend the STEP End of the Year Ceremony, please stop by the office ASAP to pick up your graduation certificates and STEP medal to wear at graduation.
• We have 5 seats left for the Broadway performance of In the Heights on Thursday, June 17. If you are interested in attending, please stop by the office to fill out field trip paperwork. This is a first come first-served opportunity.
• We are currently gathering information for our Fall Newsletter. Have you been awarded a scholarship or internship? Please let us know so that we can share your good news!
• Have you applied for Financial Aid for the 2010-2011 school year? Every Thursday the Financial Aid Office will be offering Financial Aid Workshops for our students. The workshops will provide a general overview of how to apply for financial aid, what to expect once the application has been submitted, and the importance of scholarships. Workshops will be held every Thursday from 2-3pm in the Computer Commons area (room TC-226) and they are scheduled to run through July 15th. Be sure to let us know if you attend this workshop so that you can get credit for STEP.
• Are you comfortable navigating MyMaricopa? Wednesdays from 11-noon Academic Advising will be doing workshops on How to Navigate your MyMaricopa account. Learn how to search and sign up for classes, request transcripts, view your grades and so much more! Workshops will be held on the following dates: May 5 and May 19. All MyMaricopa Workshops will be held in the LAC. Don’t forget to let us know if you attend so that you can get credit from STEP.
• Convocations are available for graduating students! These are events that celebrate your accomplishment in graduating from the Maricopa Community CollegesThe Native American Convocation will be held May 8. Remember, you must register online if you would like to participate in these events and the deadlines are rapidly approaching. We will continue to inform you about additional convocation events as we hear about them. Don’t miss out!
