Hello STEP Students,
- Tuesday, November 10 we will have an Etiquette Lunch at 12:15 in the Student Union. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to sharpen your etiquette skills! Lunch will be provided. This Lunch will count as 1 Personal Development Unit toward Grant Aid.
- Friday, November 13 we will be visiting ASU Tempe campus. Join us to learn about applying to ASU, Financial Aid, and to take a tour of the campus. Transportation and lunch will be provided. Please stop by the STEP Office to sign up for this tour ASAP!. This tour will count as 1 Academic Unit toward Grant Aid.
- The Honeywell tour has been postponed until Friday, December 4. Calling all Engineering majors: if you are interested in this tour, please make sure to stop by the STEP Office to sign up!
- We are happy to announce that Ottawa University will be holding a workshop on Tuesday, November 17 at 12:15 p.m. Please make an effort to attend if you are interested in Ottawa. This workshop will count as 1 Academic Unit toward Grant Aid.
- The Maroon & Gold Scholarship scheduled for Wednesday, November 18 has been canceled.
- USB Drives are now available for STEP Students! To receive one, you need to meet with Laura to update your check sheet and/or schedule your classes for the Spring semester or provide us with a copy of your schedule for the Spring 2010. You can schedule an appointment with Laura by stopping by the office or calling 602.305.5676.
- The STEP Office will be closed Wednesday, November 11 in observance of Veteran’s Day.
- We will be attending a performance of Phantom of the Opera n Thursday, November 19. If you have signed up and can no longer attend, please notify me AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. We have several students on the waitlist. If you no-show for this performance, you are denying another student the opportunity to attend and you may not be permitted to attend performances with STEP in the Spring. Please email me back or stop by the office to let us know if you cannot attend.
- Grant Aid Applications are due December 4 at 4:30 p.m. We encourage students to keep attending activities, tutoring, and to come in for advising. Remember, more activities and involvement with the STEP Program makes for a more favorable application. Also, please keep in mind, you are responsible for tracking all of your activities. You can attach additional activities on a separate sheet of paper when you turn in your application.
- CALL FOR ENTRIES: 2009/2010 Maricopa Creative Writing Competition One-Act Plays/Scripts, Poetry, Essays, Fiction. Entry Deadline: November 20, 2009. Submit to SMCC Coordinator Sara Kinsey.
