National Arbor Day is a day in which individuals and groups are encouraged to plant and care for trees and gain education about the importance of trees. Arbor Day originated in Nebraska and is celebrated in a number of countries. The celebration of Arbor Day gives you an opportunity to learn about trees and take positive action by showing appreciation for this valuable resource. Faculty are encouraged to allow student participation. This is also an opportunity for a service learning activity.
